Fashionable Friday X

Hard to believe it’s been over ten weeks since I started this blog. I know I’ve missed a few posts, but hey… it’s not bad, right?

So, anyway, this post is going to be about paracord.

I’m sure you’ve heard of the stuff. It was first used in WWII and was what the paratroopers used to hold their chutes. Hence the name.

Lately, it’s become pretty trendy to wear paracord bracelets, belts, or headbands. … Okay, so I don’t know about the last one…

I honestly love the stuff, it’s fun and colorful, and totally useful if you find yourself in situation where you need some rope! I even wear it with my work suits.

IMG_2534 - CopyI got mine from a start up business called, Survival Circlets, and I can’t recommend this guy enough! Ryan Stebbins clearly knows what he’s doing, and unlike most paracord making its rounds these days, he uses honest-to-goodness military grade stuff. Three by seven weave. That means the rope is made of three strands, and each strand is made up of seven “inner” strands. All in all, the cord is rated to hold 550 pounds. That’s a lot for a bit of rope that’s smaller than your pinky.

Oh, and I should mention Ryan’s workout blog, TrueBeast. Ryan was and still is my inspiration for working out. Sure, I may not want to be a body builder, but being fit and healthy is something I strive for. And Ryan got me started and has kept me motivated, I’d be remiss not to give him a big shout out.

IMG_2550 - CopyOh, and he makes the bracelet custom to your wrist size. So yeah, guaranteed to fit. And say the world suddenly, heaven forbid, becomes infested by zombies because of a sudden virus… maybe a strange Ebola strand, (I know, I’m stretching) but never-the-less, you get taken in by a band of parkour runners and your job becomes – not only surviving, but running supplies through zombie infested wastelands. You’re gonna want some American made paracord for when the going gets tough. Or something. I know I would.

  1. Awesome photos! I’m glad to hear you like the bracelet, Amarok. It’s also very cool that I inspired someone to workout! That inspires me to work on my blog more, haha. I’m updating it on Tuesdays and Thursdays (not enough lately). I’m working on a new workout vid for YouTube at the moment.

Do you mind if I use your photos on SurvivalCirclets.com? I hope not, because I already did! http://survivalcirclets.com/customer-testimonial-action-shots/

    Thanks again!
